Diptych (Father/Daughter)

50”x40”

Materials: handwoven double cloth, hand dyed and painted cotton warp, secondhand sourced weft, pattern abstracted from hand carved family heirloom

2022

This piece was developed after the passing of my father. I was thinking a lot about what remains when someone is gone. I started to hold onto his clothing, sentimental fabrics, and heirlooms. I was drawn to the patterns of these objects, so I took them and wove them letting the patterns act as a record and map of existence. They act as an honoring of life.
