Family Patterns

66”x36”

Handwoven Jacquard TC2 weaving, crylic yarn, cotton thread, pattern abstracted from a hand carved family heirloom

2022

Family Patterns examines what traits, patterns and traumas have also been passed down through generations. In this piece, I take these metaphorical and ancetral patterns and weave them, abstracting and disintegrating them, just as time does to memory. Letting the cloth now carry the weight of the patterns, beliefs, loss, memory and celebration.
